Arise warriors arise!
A four-year-old boy was finally put into time-out after battling with his mother. “Sit in that chair until the timer goes off,” the mother said in frustration. The boy sat down, fearing greater punishment, but said, “Okay, Mommy. I’m sitting on the outside, but I’m standing up on the inside!”
Last weekend wasn’t fantastic. Had a misunderstand that lead to much frustration & anguish. Half of me was battling to do the right thing, the other part of me offered nice little excuses & reasons not to. Put it simply I felt lousy & defeated. Yucky yucks feeling.
After a while of self pity & guilt I woke up one morning with this sudden thought that popped in my head.
“You’re a warrior. Warriors fight, warriors emerge victorious.”
Woah woah woah. It’s pretty amazing. As suddenly as it came I suddenly realized that though I was a warrior on the outside but really inside of me I wasn’t one.
Well whimpy warrior no more. And my favourite female warrior is non other than Hua Mu Lan! Yeah! Arise warriors arise! THIS IS THE YEAR OF VICTORY!!!

During the 100K Campaign, we have blessed 5592 people as a Cluster.
And if we fellowship with these people, we would have engaged into Ed Silvoso’s 4 steps of WINNING!!! Remember:
1) Bless
2) Fellowship
3) Meet felt needs
4) Share the gospel

So Fellowship. :)

Bless… Fellowship… August 10, 2007

Luke 10

1  After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
2  He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
3  Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
4  Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

BLESS
5  “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
6  If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.

FELLOWSHIP
7  Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
8  “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you.

MEET FELT NEEDS
9  Heal the sick who are there

SHARE THE GOOD NEWS

and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’

Will You?

Verse 1

Will you make this island

Amazing in all ways? [By blessing people]

Surprises [Blessings] every corner

Delightful nights and days

Verse 2

Will you take this country

And turn it from a place

To a home that greets you

With smiles in every face? [Saying "Are you part of the 100K?"]

Pre-chorus

Will you come on this brave journey? [To become a blessing warrior]

Will you help to make it real? [The targets of the 100K Campaign]

Will you write us grand new stories, [Testimonies of answered prayers]

Songs that everyone will feel?

Chorus

So…Will you swim the current? [To bless someone]

Will you scale new heights? [To bless someone]

Will you make it happen,

Will you let your dreams [Blessing 20 people and beyond] take flight?

And…Will you make the difference? [To stand in the gap for Singapore]

Will you seize the day? [Bless everyday and not do last minute blessing!]

Will you live each moment, [Blessing people all the time]

Will you dare to find new ways? [To bless people as you slowly run out of people in your oikos]

Verse 3

Will you take this city

And turn it from a place

To a home that greets you

With smiles on every face? [Saying "Are you part of the 100K?"]

Pre-chorus

Will you come on this brave journey? [To become a blessing warrior]

Will you help to make it real? [The targets of the 100K Campaign]

Will you write us grand new stories, [Testimonies of answered prayers]

Songs that everyone will feel?

We would have 5592 miracles, 5592 testimonies!!!
Imagine with me…. if just 10% of those people choose to believe Christ based on that miracle, our Cluster would have additional 560 brothers and sisters in Christ!!!

So pray!!! :)

After Ps Khong’s encouragement for the church to rise up and complete the 100K Campaign on time, some of my tribe brothers and I went down to City Hall/Suntec City straight after service to fill up the five blessing slips. I’ve not felt such excitement for a long time, so I was quite gung ho and was quite determined to get the five slips filled up by today.

Right after service, I messaged two of my course mates to ask them whether they want to be part of this 100K Blessing and they said yes. Two down, three more to go.

We hanged around City Hall MRT station asking people whether they want to be part of this 100K Blessing. I’ve got my fair share of rejection, but I managed to bless two people. My brothers had similar success. We even managed to bless the booth promoters of a certain credit card in the station! Four down, one more to go.

This was when I really saw God’s hand moving. In the midst of the crowd, I was spotted by one of my former colleagues. She approached me and asked what was I doing. I took the opportunity to explain to her about the 100K Blessing and she gladly filled up the slip! Wow! It was without much effort on my part and I managed to finished the last five of my 20 people in one afternoon!

This is what the LORD Almighty says: “In those days ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, ‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’ ” (Zechariah 8:23 NIV)

When I first heard Ps Khong announcing the 100K Campaign, I was quite fearful that I will fall short of the target of blessing 20 people – “where am I going to find these 20 people?” I asked God. However I also said to God, “I don’t know how I am going to get these 20 names, but God, I trust that You will show them to me.” And He did! I’ve never been so bold in my many years as a Christian to bless and pray for people, and I am proud that because of this 100K Campaign, I stepped out in faith and out of my comfort zone to pray for people and their needs.

This is taken from Pastor Yeang Cherng’s Blog. We should copy the good stuff right!

Transformation: Praying God’s Blessing for your School

DT11:24 Every place where you set your foot will be yours

Following the 100k campaign, we will be embarking on praying for our land – specifically for us in YouthNet, for all the schools and educational institutions in Singapore.

Education shapes our minds, leads us to the Creator of all knowledge and truth. Young minds shaped to recognize God’s hand in schools become humble with a thirst for knowledge – in order to know the Infinite God.

Yet this starts when christians all over head God’s voice and start to pray for our schools. Teachers, students, parents, all who bear God’s heartbeat for the land.

Here’s a sample plan for a 25-min prayer walk

1. Worship & enthrone Jesus as you walk about your school. Welcome the Holy Spirit into your school (5 mins)
2. Speak and bless the leadership, key appointment holders of the school/s by name, MOE, NIE (1 Tim 2:1-3) (5 mins)
3. Bless the students of the school, pray for the knowledge of God to fill their minds and hearts (5 mins)
4. Dedicate yourself & your work to the Lord. You are a minister in the school (5 mins)
5. Find a place to sit and listen to the Holy Spirit speak to you. Journal down (5 min)

Other Pointers

1. This is a simple act of blessing our schools as teachers. Do not make it into a public affair & raise unnecessary attention.
2. You can get fellow believing teachers to join you and pray in pairs or threes.
3. God wants to bless your school! So enjoy the time and prayerwalk with Jesus
4. Inform your G12 Leader for accountability

HAB 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Thanksgivings August 2, 2007

Dear Family,

I will like to give some thanksgivings.

1) I was rejected a blessing just now

Just now, on the way back on the bus, I told God that if someone were to come and sit beside me, I will bless that person. Along came a lady. I offered to bless her but she said that she doesn’t want and doesn’t need. Even when I told her it’s done regardless of religion, she still resisted. I did not pursue, but I was frustratingly puzzled by my first rejection through this 100k campaign (not sure whether there’s such a term, but that was how I felt)… how could anyone want to reject blessing? Why are these people so weird? Then I felt God telling me, “Hey Cindy… don’t be angry with the girl for rejecting the blessing… but consider what caused her to reject it”… I thought… and this verse came to me and ministered to me.

11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Yes although it seems like the girl is “weird” if we just were to look at things on the surface, but there is more than that. Our struggle is not against what we see, but it’s against the principalities. I realized that pple who reject blessings have really been blinded by the evil in this world. With this realization, I start to have a new found compassion for people who reject the blessings, I prayed for this lady under my breath as I sat beside her, praying that God will bring pple to her life that will bring her to the truth of God.

Actually, I had a pretty smooth 100k blessing so far, and I was just jokingly thinking to myself this morning that it’s time for me to face a rejection. I am glad it happened, cos it humbled me and I wanted to feel how my cell members felt when they got rejected.

2) QQS happened in the middle of the campaign.

In my logical mind, I figured that we should bless an average of 5 per week, so that we can meet the “target” of 20 in 1 month’s time. But with QQS and 2 weeks down, it means that I have only 2 weeks left to bless 20 pple. That makes an average of 10 per week. I felt fear creeping into me asking myself how I am going to find the time and pple to bless in such a short amount of time, 5 pple per week sounds much more manageable then 10 per week.

I realized that I really need God to help me to make my friends available to meet me and give me strength to be able to keep up with the tight schedule. As I hungered when I fasted, I also found myself calling out to God to help me in this campaign. Even as I met the halfway mark of blessing 10 pple, I felt like how I felt when I joined the 10km marathon. The feeling of wanting to stop cos it has been tiring but also not wanting to give up halfway. So in all, I thank God for QQS happening in the middle of the campaign, cos through which, I have learnt the true meaning of the verse “Not by might, not by strength, but by the spirit of God.”

 3) Leaders’ Meeting

Thank God for Ps Eugene and Julie’s sharings and blessings. I was very surprised that some of the things that they mentioned were exactly how I felt and what I said. Because of how “accurate” the things they said were, it warmed my heart to know that God remembers me and cares for me.

It’s the last week of the campaign, let’s run like we have never run before.

=) Cindy
