Thank you, Lord for everything December 29, 2007

In case you don’t know who I am. Let me intro a bit: I’m Jane, one of Xuemei’s NUS open cell members. I’m also a second year life science major undergraduate in NUS.
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Every semester in uni is a challenge to me and I really want to thank God for renewing my strength and being there for me all the time throughout this year. Indeed God has His plan for everyone, plans not to harm but to prosper us. I believe the struggles that I faced were part of His plan to mould and shape me into someone He wants me to be. Thus, I have learnt and am still learning to wait and persevere even in times when I do not understand or see why certain things had happened.
Since I have just gotten my results for the previous semester, I would specifically like to give thanks to God for my studies. I am not in the dean’s list; mind you, but I want to thank God for the improvement in my academic performance this semester. I would also like to thank everyone in cell who had prayed for me. Thanks for sharing the burden with me. I really appreciate it! May all glory be to God for all that He has done through me! Wish you all a Happy New Year!

Hey cluster!
We are in the FINALS! Singapore plays Malaysia on Saturday, 15th December at 4.30pm Thailand time, 5.30pm Singapore time. (http://www.teamsingapore.com.sg/publish/content/teamsingapore/en/games/sea/2007/thailand_2007/schedule.detail.html?sportFilter=106)
UPDATES:
Singapore beat the Philippines 10.5-1 yesterday. And Pastor Khong was chosen to be the “No. 1″! (http://www.equestrian.com.my/news/2007/12/13/3081,ce6,3cab97.html) Don’t know what that means in polo but I guess it must be good? Hahaz!
Now the Malaysian team are undeniably strong, so Pastor Khong and his team need all the support they can get. Angelic help. So people, let’s do it!
In His Service,
Philip. =D
Year of Victory Thanksgiving December 13, 2007

God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good!
This year is indeed the year of Victory. I have experienced for myself (I think it’s only the tip of an iceberg), what amazing things God can do.
1. Healing of my leg
I was diagnosed with vasculities last year after some strange rash appeared in 2005 and leaving bad scars. Well, God allowed it so that his glory might be shown. Went through a roller coaster journey with God of his assurance that beauty is not just skin deep, and to continue to trust God that He is a healer, even if the docs say otherwise.
This year God made a miracle in my life by healing me! And I’m off all medication (popping pills is not fun at all). Doc say no need to go back anymore for the rest of my life. It’s cleared. All good. Praise God!
2. Miraculous healing of my mum
Mum had stroke last year and went through surgery. But, the side effects of the medication made my mum really weak and she had to walk with clutches. During one of the miracle weekend, I brought mum to Chinese service. The aunty at the altar call just said: “Aunty, God will heal you, just walk with FAITH!” ANd my mum with very simple faith, BELIEVED and WALKED with FAITH. Hallelujah! I was dumbfounded that healing is just so simple (I was like, God, are you serious?). Just Believe, Just Do It. She walked into the church with clutches, walked out none! And my mum’s condition is stable now, no clutches, and she prays everyday God will heal her.
3. Salary increment.
At the beginning of the year, I asked for a certain Faith figure and interestingly, this year, my salary was adjusted 3 times! So, God gave me more than I asked for. Praise God!
The SEA Games 2007 – Far From Over! December 12, 2007

Hey cluster!
Remember we voted enthusiastically for Pastor Khong for the SEA Games’ Sports Idol? Well he is in the FINAL ROUND which goes on from now until 21 December 2007, which means he is Singapore’s top 50 Sports Idols!
And he needs our votes! I think we can vote more than once (I know many of us did) so let’s help him out in this year of victory! Check out http://www.teamsingapore.com.sg/publish/teamsingapore/sportsidol/phase2/cat/lawrence_khong_kin.html and vote for our beloved pastor!
Also, he needs our prayers! Singapore has defeated Thailand 7-5 for Polo on 8 December (Saturday) and also beat Indonesia 8-3 on 9 December (Sunday). Just as the strategy went, Singapore lost to Malaysia 2.5-8 yesterday, 11 December (Tuesday). THE LAST MATCH FOR THE PRELIMINARY ROUND IS TOMORROW, 13 December (Thursday) where Singapore will play the Philippines at 4.30pm Thailand time. Let’s see Pastor Khong into the FINALS! Malaysia is in the finals after beating Indonesia 11-3.5, the Philippines 11-1.5 and Thailand 14-3.5. Courtesy of http://www.equestrian.com.my:
Malaysia: 4 wins: 8 points
Singapore: 2 wins, 1 loss: 4 points
Thailand: 1 win, 2 losses: 2 points
Philippines: 1 win, 2 losses: 2 points
Indonesia: 3 losses: 0 points.
Singapore needs only a draw to secure their place in the final; whereas apparently because of goal difference the Philippines has a glimer of hope if they thrash Singapore soundly on the Thursday match. According to http://www.equestrian.com.my/blog/polo/?cat=2 (a blog by a Singapore polo player, I think he’s Peter J. Abishenagaden) the Philippines needs to win with a score difference of 15 to edge Singapore out of the finals.
In the light of this, let us remember 15 December (Saturday), which is the FINALS for Men’s Polo. 4.30pm.

Let’s end off the year of victory with a bang!
In His Service,
Philip. =]
