mm… reading through Isaiah is not easy, so many prophesies. Honestly, I got lost in most of the text. But God is gracious to pepper Isaiah with nuggets of truth that sparkle my adoration of Him ~ God is not far to be found 
Isaiah 28:23 – 29
Listen and hear my voice;
pay attention and hear what I say.
When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually?
Does he keep on breaking up and harrowing the soil?
When he has leveled the surface,
does he not sow caraway and scatter cummin?
Does he not plant wheat in its place,
barley in its plot,
and spelt in its field?
His God instructs him
and teaches him the right way.
Caraway is not threshed with a sledge,
nor is a cartwheel rolled over cummin;
caraway is beaten out with a rod,
and cummin with a stick.
Grain must be ground to make bread;
so one does not go on threshing it forever.
Though he drives the wheels of his threshing cart over it,
his horses do not grind it.
All this also comes from the LORD Almighty,
wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom.
In short, God gave His people the trade secret of agriculture, the most important economic sector of that time. Out of the few verses, there are 3 phrases that I noted.
1. Listen and hear my voice, pay attention and hear what I say.
~ our responsibility to act
2. His God instruct Him and teaches him the right way.
~ because God is going to teach us the right way to do things in our daily lives, marketplace in this context
3. All this also comes from the LORD Almighty, wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom.
~ for Who He *is*
As I meditate on the truth, I realised that God is asking me to listen to Him, He wants to instruct me in the job that I’m assigned at work - one of the things that’s on my mind these few days. Nothing can beat that, He is wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom

Isaiah 11:2-3a
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him -
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -
and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.
Often, some of us pray the prayer for the seven Spirit of the LORD to be upon us. However, this is the first time that I noticed the verse did not end there, it goes on to say, “…and he will delight in the fear of the LORD.” Mm… “delight in the fear of the LORD” that’s a paradox to ponder. Under normal circumstances, we would want to avoid fear. BUT.. under this divine circumstance, it is the fear of the LORD. I believe it is all in a package, the seven Spirit of the LORD & the delight in the fear of the LORD.
The word “fear” appears 326 times in the bible (NIV). Just by sampling a few related verses, the bible gives some insights on how we can start living in the fear of the LORD and begin to enter into this delight:
1) fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart ~ 1 Samuel 12:24
2) fears God and shuns evil ~ Job 1:8, Proverbs 3:7
3) fear the Lord… revere the Lord ~ Psalms 33:8, Isaiah 59:19
4) fear the Lord and honour His name ~ Malachi 3:16
5) Cornelius and his family, devout and God-fearing; gave generously to those in need and prayed regularly ~ Acts 10
6) (do a word study for more

Dear Spirit of God, teach me to delight in the fear of the LORD. Give me the grace and the mercy to learn and live this delight.

The Lord showed me a vision of the locusts, the vision of the fire, and the vision of the plumb line. My prayers were answered according to the Lord’s sovereignty. My third vision of concerned a plumb line. A plumb line is used by builders and masons to determine how straight a wall is. God’s plumb line is His word, and He uses it for measuring spiritual and moral uprightness. In this case, the people of Israel was being measured. Were they found to be upright? How straight is our own wall?

2 Kings 20:16-19
Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the LORD : The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD. And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, that will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”
“The word of the LORD you have spoken is good,” Hezekiah replied. For he thought,“Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?”
I was surprised for a moment: King Hezekiah did not care how his children will turn out! The fore-fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were not like that, they prayed blessings for their children. I remembered Abraham prayed for Lot so that God will save him and his family. Father Abraham with a heart of fathering.
I can’t fully know the condition of my heart, but as of this moment, I can pray for my spiritual children.
Will you join me to take a couple of moments to pray for your children that are yet to be birthed, your physical children or your spiritual children?

Arise warriors arise!
A four-year-old boy was finally put into time-out after battling with his mother. “Sit in that chair until the timer goes off,” the mother said in frustration. The boy sat down, fearing greater punishment, but said, “Okay, Mommy. I’m sitting on the outside, but I’m standing up on the inside!”
Last weekend wasn’t fantastic. Had a misunderstand that lead to much frustration & anguish. Half of me was battling to do the right thing, the other part of me offered nice little excuses & reasons not to. Put it simply I felt lousy & defeated. Yucky yucks feeling.
After a while of self pity & guilt I woke up one morning with this sudden thought that popped in my head. “You’re a warrior. Warriors fight, warriors emerge victorious.”
Woah woah woah. It’s pretty amazing. As suddenly as it came I suddenly realized that though I was a warrior on the outside but really inside of me I wasn’t one.
Well whimpy warrior no more. And my favourite female warrior is non other than Hua Mu Lan! Yeah! Arise warriors arise! THIS IS THE YEAR OF VICTORY!!!

In comparison to the other cities like Calneh, Hamath and Gath, Israel was by far much “better off”. However, rather than putting their trust in the One who blessed them with such material possessions, the Israelites looked for security in the things they owned. Worst still, they showed no concern over the ruin that was soon to overtake them. Because of their misplaced affections, God will soon remove both his people and their possessions.

The grace of God was extended to the Israelites. The word of God pleaded with the people to “seek God and live”. God had warned the Israelites not to go to Bethel, Gilgal and Beersheba. Such places had become centres of idolatory worship. Gilgal was the place that Israel had entered the land under Joshua, it was there that the people will go out in captivity. Bethel was known as the “house of God”, but under Jeroboam I, the “house of God” had become an idolatrous shrine. Beersheba was way south in the kingdom of Judah, but the Israelites were making their way past the true temple in Jerusalem and making pilgrimages to the idolatrous shrine in Beersheba.
Following the judgement on Israel’s sin of idolatory, the Lord had asked me to pronounce judgement against the injustice committed by the Israelites. The theme of injustice was repeatedly highlighted in my pronouncement of judgement upon Israel, signifying the heart of God towards the poor and needy.
Idolatory and injustice will be judged. Seek God and seek good.

Be it good times or bad times, the Israelites had turned away from God.
In good times, the Israelites committed acts of injustice and oppression. The God who prospered them had expected them to show concern for the poor and needy. Outwardly, although they seemed pious and had the forms of worship; inwardly, they were corrupt.
Even though the Israelites are living in good times now, there were times that they suffered under the chatisement of God. Yet they have not returned to God.
The Israelites were clearly not prepared to meet their God, but little would they know that God would meet them soon, not in a face-to-face sense, but as God intervenes in history to effect their destruction. Some 40 years later, the northern kingdom of Israel was conquered by the Assyrians and the people were literally led out with fishooks.
Are we prepared to meet our God, anytime?
